Dr. Mary Dunaway is an Associate Professor of Information Science & Systems at Morgan State University within the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management. She holds a PhD from the University of Arkansas and has extensive industry experience managing technology projects at Fortune 500 companies. Her research focuses on digital citizenship, artificial intelligence, organizational capabilities, and negative internet behaviors. Dr. Dunaway has been recognized as a 2023-2024 Global Tableau Ambassador and a 2024-2025 US Fulbright Scholar, emphasizing her contributions to data culture advocacy and project management analytics.
Her educational background includes an MBA from Amberton University and a BS in Computer Science from Southern University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2004 and actively contributes to professional organizations like the Project Management Institute and Association for Information Systems.
Dr. Dunaway’s research spans cybersecurity, IoT-driven competitive advantages, and innovative teaching methodologies. Her recent work explores how digital citizenship influences cyberbullying and learning outcomes. She has presented widely, including at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and University of Virginia, and has published in top journals like the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and Annals of Operations Research.
Her awards include Fulbright Scholar recognition and multiple best paper nominations. She coordinates the Master of Data Analytics and Visualization program and is a proponent of active learning strategies in data analytics education.
