Dr. Mary Clarke is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at RCSI. She holds positions including Director of SPHeRE, Vice-Dean for International Citizenship, and teaches on neuroscience modules in Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy. Her research focuses on psychiatric epidemiology, particularly early life influences on mental illness, including schizophrenia and adolescent mental health. She collaborates on large cohort studies in Ireland and Finland.

She serves on editorial boards for Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology and EU-GEI networks.
Grants include funding for interdisciplinary doctoral education, structured population health research, and environmental risk assessments. Her teaching roles include leading the Neuroscience Module and coordinating mental health curriculum integration.
