Mary Churchill is a Lecturer at Sonoma State University, affiliated with the Liberal Studies, Native American Studies, American Multicultural Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies departments. Her teaching and research intersect religious studies with Indigenous and gender-focused perspectives.

- Ph.D. in Religious Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara (1997)
Her research focuses on American Indian religious traditions, women and religion, and interdisciplinary approaches to multicultural studies. She has published in leading journals like the Journal of the American Academy of Religion and Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion, as well as contributing chapters to edited volumes such as Sacred Rights and Reading Native American Women.
Mary Churchill received the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University. She previously taught at the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Iowa before joining Sonoma State in 2007.
