Professor Mary Chambers holds a Professorship in Mental Health Nursing at Kingston University/St. George's University of London (KUSGUL) and serves as Director of the Centre for Public Engagement (CPE) since 2013. She has held senior roles including Director of the Centre for Clinical Leadership and Inter-professional Practice at South West London & St. George's Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG), and previously held academic positions at Ulster University and the Royal College of Nursing Research Institute.

Her research focuses on implementation science, tele-healthcare, and patient/public involvement in mental health service development. As an associate editor of the International Journal of Health Expectations and member of the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) sub-panel 3, she contributes to national/international research governance. Awards include the Eileen Skellern Lecture Award (2017) and Fellowship of the European Academy of Nursing Science (2011).
