Mary Brushe

Dr. Mary Brushe serves as an Adjunct Fellow at the University of Adelaide's School of Public Health (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences) and Senior Research Officer in Epidemiology at The Kids Research Institute, focusing on health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the Indigenous Genomics team.

Her educational background includes:

• PhD in Public Health (2024), investigating early life inequalities in language development and screen time using longitudinal cohort data.

Research spans early childhood health, screen time impacts, mental well-being, social determinants of health, and epidemiological methods. She actively collaborates on child/adolescent mental health, food insecurity, school breakfast programs, and early years initiative evaluations.

Dr. Brushe received the PhD Research Excellence Category award at the 2024 South Australian Science and Innovation Awards.

She contributes to multidisciplinary teams addressing health inequities and advocates for research translation into policy and community practice.
