Martyn Wakeman

Martyn Wakeman is a Researcher and Lecturer at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), split between the Laboratory for Processing of Advanced Composites (60%) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering (40%).

Education:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, University of Nottingham (1993-1998)
• BEng in Mechanical Engineering, University of Nottingham (1990-1993)

Research Interests:

Focuses on advanced composites for net-zero transitions, including 3D printing, sustainability, and industrial applications. Specializes in thermoplastic composites, additive manufacturing, and circular economy strategies. Key areas include cost modeling, automotive composites, and functionalized materials.
