معرفی
Professor Martyn Hill holds the Chair of Electromechanical Systems at the University of Southampton since 2008. His research focuses on ultrasonic wave applications in microfluidic systems, particularly through ultrasonic radiation forces, with significant biomedical collaborations. He co-founded the Ultrasonic Standing Wave Network, which evolved into the international Acoustofluidics conference series.
- Education: BSc in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration from Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, Southampton
- Leadership Roles: Deputy Head (Education) of School of Engineering Sciences (2006-2009), Head of Engineering Sciences (2011-2015), Associate Dean (Education) for Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (2018-2021)
His research spans ultrasonic particle manipulation, biomedical device design, and temperature monitoring systems. Key projects include collaborations with biomedical scientists and EPSRC-funded initiatives. His work demonstrates interdisciplinary integration of acoustics, microfluidics, and aerospace engineering.
External roles include US Patent 8,425,749 B1 for a microfabricated particle focusing device and multiple invited speaking engagements on particle manipulation technologies. He currently supervises PhD student Anthony James Willis Lindley and contributes to educational leadership across engineering, chemistry, physics, and computer science programs.
