Martine LaBerge is a Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Clemson University. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Montreal (1988). Her research focuses on medical tribology, orthopaedic bearing materials, and vascular implant design, with expertise in material synthesis, lubrication systems, and in vitro experimentation.
Research interests include:
- Total Knee Implant tribology and lubrication
- Endovascular Stent design and restenosis mechanisms
- Contact mechanics and vascular smooth muscle response
- Development of biomaterials for in vivo applications
Her work integrates experimental approaches with computational modeling to improve implant performance and biocompatibility. Office location: 302 Rhodes Annex, contact via phone (864-656-5557).
