معرفی
Martina Rovelli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on higher category theory, homotopy theory, and algebraic topology, with significant contributions to (∞,n)-categories, 2-Segal spaces, and model category structures. She holds a Ph.D. from EPFL (2017) under Kathryn Hess and has held postdoctoral positions at Johns Hopkins University, ANU, and MSRI. Her work is supported by an NSF grant (2022).
Her research explores foundational aspects of categorical structures, including comparisons of models for ∞-categories, homotopy coherence, and categorical equivalences. Notable projects include studies on ω-categories, (∞,n)-limits, and Waldhausen constructions. Collaborations span with experts like Viktoriya Ozornova, Julie Bergner, and Emily Riehl. She contributes to advancing the theoretical frameworks linking category theory with algebraic topology.
Publications highlight innovations in categorical nerve constructions, model adjunctions, and homotopy pushouts, with applications to K-theory and higher-dimensional category models. Teaching emphasizes award-winning pedagogy in advanced mathematical topics.
