Martina Havenith

Prof. Dr. Martina Havenith is a Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry II at Ruhr University Bochum's Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry. She leads a research group specializing in advanced spectroscopic techniques, with core expertise in terahertz spectroscopy for analyzing water network dynamics and high-resolution infrared spectroscopy for studying molecular clusters in ultracold environments.

Her research investigates fundamental processes in physical chemistry, particularly hydrogen bonding dynamics, solvent-driven processes, and molecular aggregation. She contributes significantly to interdisciplinary solvation science initiatives like the RESOLV Cluster of Excellence and ZEMOS research center, exploring water's role in biological systems and sustainable chemistry applications.
