- B.Sc. from the University of Adelaide
- Ph.D. from Yale University (1992)
His research focuses on theoretical and computational cosmology, particularly cosmic microwave background anisotropies and the large-scale structure of the universe. He collaborates with major astronomical surveys and co-founded the Planck, BOSS, and DESI collaborations.
Current projects include the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), which aims to create a detailed 3D map of the universe to study dark energy.
