معرفی
Professor Martin Wechselberger is a faculty member in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Applied Mathematics Group and Sydney Dynamics Group. His research focuses on dynamical systems, geometric singular perturbation theory, nonlinear waves, and mathematical physiology. He specializes in analyzing systems with multiple time and space scales, particularly in calcium dynamics and neuroscience.
Research Interests: Dynamical systems, geometric singular perturbation theory, rhythms and patterns, nonlinear waves, and mathematical physiology. His work aligns with the Faculty of Science's research strengths in complex systems, disease mechanisms, and environmental dynamics.
Awards: Recipient of the J.D. Crawford Prize 2017. Grants include ARC-funded projects on singular perturbation theory and reaction-nonlinear diffusion models.
Advising and Grants: Current students include Georgio Hawi and Timothy Lapuz. Major grants include a 2022 project on coordinate-independent multi-time-scale theory and a 2020 study on shock dynamics. His work bridges mathematics with applications in biology, physics, and astrophysics.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the Sydney Dynamics Group, organizing workshops on multiscale systems and physiological rhythms.
