Dr. Martin Veilleux serves as an Assistant Professor in Neurology at the Montreal Neurological Institute (The Neuro), a McGill University research and teaching institute, and as a staff neurologist at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. He actively participates in the American Academy of Neurology, Quebec and Canadian Medical Association, and American Epilepsy Society.
His educational background includes:
- MD (1979) from the University of Sherbrooke
- Internship and Medicine residency at University of Sherbrooke Medical Center and Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal (1980-1981)
- Neurology residency (1983)
- Fellowship at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester (1986)
Dr. Veilleux's research and clinical work focuses exclusively on Epilepsy, demonstrated through leadership in The Neuro's Epilepsy Programme and Epilepsy Research Group. He contributes to public awareness through initiatives like Purple Day for Epilepsy, emphasizing community education and patient support in seizure disorders.
