Martin Studer

Martin Studer is an internationally active Swiss conductor, artistic director, educator, and cultural manager with over 30 years of professional experience. He serves as a Lecturer in Music Theory and Conducting at Kalaidos Music Academy since 2015, following accreditation by SAMP/SMPV since 1989.

His work centers on music theory, conducting pedagogy, and cross-generational musical development. He has founded/developed institutions like the New Zurich Orchestra (NZO), University Orchestra Bern (UOB), Interlaken Classic Festival, and Swiss Philharmonic Academy (Phil-A), emphasizing practical experience sharing and socially inclusive music programs.

Scientific awards include: multiple Kiefer-Hablitzel scholarships, Hamm Conductors' Forum prize (1989), Dinu Niculescu competition award (1992), and Honorary Professorship in Kyrgyzstan (1998).

Studer combines artistic direction with mentoring initiatives, creating platforms for young musicians and vulnerable populations through projects like 'Life School through Music' and 'Sounds for a Good Cause'.
