Martin Steiner

Martin Steiner is a senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he has worked since 1990 in the Department for the Study and Publication of the Works of J. A. Comenius. Previously at the Institute of Pedagogy (1971-1990), he served as department head (1993-2012) and deputy head (2013-2021). His academic background includes classical philology from Charles University (PhDr. 1972) with a focus on Latin-Czech studies.

Steiner's research centers on Comenius's Latin writings, textual criticism, and historical linguistics. He specializes in:
