Martin Skitmore is a Professor and University Professorial Fellow at Bond University's Faculty of Society & Design, affiliated with the Centre for Comparative Construction Research. He holds an adjunct professorship at Queensland University of Technology. His research focuses on construction management, project management, cost modeling, and sustainable development, with emphasis on environmental engineering and urban planning.
He holds a PhD (1986) and MSc (1981) in Construction Management from the University of Salford. His work spans over 500 publications, with recent studies addressing carbon emissions, public infrastructure acceptance, and AI-driven project management. He actively supervises PhD students and led a project on technology-based safety management in construction (2021–2023).
Key research trends include sustainability strategies in construction, risk management frameworks, and stakeholder engagement in infrastructure projects. His work bridges quantitative methodologies with real-world applications, contributing to policy and industry practices.
He collaborates globally, with notable engagements in Malaysia, China, and Japan. His research often intersects with public policy, technological innovation, and socio-economic factors influencing construction outcomes.
