Martin Picek

Martin Picek serves as a Researcher (Scientific Assistant) within the Institute of Neurosciences at the School of Life Sciences, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), based at Campus Biotech in Geneva. Concurrently, he pursues doctoral studies in the Electrical Engineering program under EPFL's Doctoral School.

His research bridges neuroscience and engineering disciplines, focusing on neurorehabilitation technologies and neural interface systems. Work occurs primarily in the Courtine Lab, which pioneers spinal cord injury treatments through neuroprosthetics and brain-spine interfaces. This interdisciplinary approach integrates electrical engineering principles with neuroscientific inquiry to develop movement restoration therapies.

As part of EPFL's neuroengineering ecosystem, Picek contributes to projects exploring closed-loop neuromodulation and adaptive motor control systems, leveraging the Campus Biotech facility's advanced neurotechnology infrastructure.
