Martin Pabst is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Biotechnology at Delft University of Technology's Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on microbial proteomics, mass spectrometric technologies, and their applications in understanding microbial communities and biotechnological processes. Key areas include metaproteomics, prokaryotic protein glycosylation, and industrial proteomics.
He leads the Microbial Proteomics Group, developing novel mass spectrometry approaches for studying microbial diversity and their roles in ecosystems. Collaborations include work with the Daran-Lapujade Lab on yeast synthetic biology and the Ottens Lab on host cell protein analysis.
Notable achievements include the 2022 Best Lightning Talk Award and contributions to advanced proteomic techniques like NovoLign and NovoBridge pipelines for metaproteomics. Research outputs span over 139 publications, covering topics from microbial community analysis to enzymatic synthesis and environmental biotechnology applications.
