Martin Ostermann is a Professor at the Chair of Building Construction, Building Technology, and Design (IBK2) at the University of Stuttgart and serves as Managing Director of the Institute of Building Construction (IBK). He is affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC and leads the Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture research team.

Known for his work with magma architecture, including the Olympic Shooting Venue for London 2012, PanAm Games Shooting Facility in Toronto, and Al Qasba Theatre in Sharjah. His research focuses on computational design, structural innovation, and sustainable construction methodologies.
Received the AIA UK Award, IOC/IAKS Award, and was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award. His projects have been widely published and internationally recognized.
