Martin Melin

Martin Melin is a Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University’s School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability. He focuses on sustainable food systems, emphasizing capacity building, environmental innovation, and participatory research methods. His work includes projects on biogas production from agricultural residuals, carbon sequestration in farmland, and Lean methodologies in agriculture.

As Program Director for the Bachelor in Environment, Innovation and Sustainability, he teaches courses on ecosystem services and nature-based solutions. His research spans global sustainability education initiatives, such as the NextFood project, and explores stakeholder engagement in transformative education and innovation.

Martin has collaborated on projects like Biogas from Pelleted Straw and Accel Agrobiogas, addressing sustainable agricultural practices. His publications emphasize participatory approaches, policy analysis, and systemic change in food systems. He actively contributes to bridging educational strategies with agri-food sector needs, aligning with Farm-to-Fork priorities.
