Professor Martin McKee is a leading academic in European Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he has been since 1997. He serves as Medical Director at the same institution and Director of Research Policy at the European Observatory on Health Care Systems and Policies. His work bridges public health, health systems research, and European health policy, with a focus on the health impacts of socioeconomic transitions in Eastern Europe.
McKee’s research spans health policy, health systems, and public health, often intersecting with European law. His recent publications analyze cardiovascular disease disparities, post-Brexit healthcare challenges, and occupational mortality trends, reflecting his commitment to policy-relevant science.
