معرفی
Professor Martin McCall is a renowned academic serving as Proconsul and Professor of Theoretical Optics at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial College London. His research spans optical physics, quantum physics, and metamaterials, with affiliations to the Centre for Plasmonics and Metamaterials, Photonics Group, and Space Lab. He holds a PhD from King’s College (1987) and a BSc from Imperial College (1983).
His research focuses on theoretical optics, including gravitational wave coupling, chiral media dynamics, and novel wave phenomena like time-periodic optical activity. Recent work explores exceptional points in metamaterial systems and broadband Bragg phenomena in anisotropic media. McCall’s contributions also extend to foundational topics such as charge conservation in axion models and spacetime cloaking theory.
Key affiliations include the Light Community and Physics Permanent Researchers group, reflecting his interdisciplinary impact. His publications highlight advancements in transformation optics, structurally chiral materials, and the interplay between relativity and light-matter interactions.
