Martin Lanzendörfer

Martin Lanzendörfer is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Applied Geophysics, Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague. His career spans roles at the Mathematical Institute of Charles University (2003–2017) and part-time research at the Institute of Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (2011–2016).

• Education: Ph.D. in Mathematical and Computer Modelling (2011), Mgr. in Mathematical Modeling (2003), both from Charles University.

Research focuses on fluid dynamics in porous media, non-Newtonian fluids, and mathematical modeling of groundwater systems. His work bridges continuum mechanics with applications in hydrogeology and engineering geology.

Recent publications explore shear-thinning fluids in groundwater remediation, pressure-dependent viscosity in lubrication, and internal erosion in fractured environments. Collaborations span geophysics, planetary science, and computational methods.

• Scientific Awards: Junior Research Fellow at Nečas Center for Mathematical Modeling (2011–2013).

Teaching includes Groundwater Hydraulics, Numerical Modeling, and Mechanics of Fluids, with supervision of theses on porosimetry, erosion, and well clogging. He actively uses FEFLOW software for practical training.
