Martin Kalck is a tenure-track Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Graz. Previously, he held positions including an EPSRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, a research role under Henning Krause at Bielefeld, and a PhD under Igor Burban at Bonn. His research focuses on representation theory, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and homological algebra, with specific emphasis on singular varieties and categorical structures.
He has organized workshops such as the 2014 Homological Interactions conference in Edinburgh and co-organized the 2025 Mini-Symposium on Algebraic Geometry & Representation Theory. His work spans topics like singularity categories, noncommutative resolutions, and semiorthogonal decompositions.
