Martin Kagerbauer

Martin Kagerbauer is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Transport Studies (IfV) of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in human mobility behavior analysis and sustainable transport planning through advanced demand modeling.

His research integrates socio-demographic surveys with digital twin simulations to decode decision-making in mobility patterns, emphasizing climate-conscious alternatives to private car usage. Key focus areas include intermodal routing, car-sharing systems, and ridepooling optimization, as demonstrated in the Karlsruhe region's regiomove project for the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV).

Dr. Kagerbauer developed the "mobiTopp" transport demand model simulating 1.9 million residents' behavior, directly informing sustainable infrastructure planning.
