Martin Jonsson is Professor and Subject Coordinator for Media Technology at Södertörn University. His research explores embodied interaction through tangible interfaces and ubiquitous computing applications.
Jonsson's work develops somaesthetic design frameworks that integrate body awareness with interactive technology. He examines how sensor-based systems can support learning in scientific domains and create new interactive experiences for children's culture. His recent research investigates AI's role in creative programming education and ethical dimensions of human-AI co-creation.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on physical engagement with technology, from early work on context-aware middleware to current studies of balance interfaces and 3D printing practices. Recent articles examine co-creative programming partnerships and pedagogical applications of generative AI.
Jonsson leads projects on complex systems thinking education and develops design-based learning approaches for higher education contexts.
