Martin Isaksson is an Industrial PhD student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology's School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, affiliated with Ericsson Research and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. He is supervised by Seif Haridi, Šarūnas Girdzijauskas, Daniel Gillblad, and Rickard Cöster.
His research focuses on deploying and automating Machine Intelligence functions in distributed Radio Access Network (RAN) environments, with an emphasis on decentralized machine learning and Federated Learning techniques. Current work includes adaptive expert models and mmWave beam selection optimization for 5G networks.
Key publications include contributions to Federated Learning personalization, secure 5G network implementations, and mmWave analog beamforming applications. Articles span 2020-2023, with a focus on trustworthy distributed systems, 5G advancements, and AI-driven network automation.
His research is partially supported by the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP). Collaborations involve Ericsson, KTH, RISE, and Chalmers University of Technology.
