معرفی
Martin Horvath is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah, with affiliations in the Molecular Biology Program and Biological Chemistry Program. His research spans structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular mechanisms of protein function.
- B.S., Brown University
- Ph.D., University of Chicago
Dr. Horvath studies structural biology and biochemistry, focusing on DNA repair enzymes, insect odorant receptors, ocular carotenoid-binding proteins, and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. His work combines x-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, and computational modeling to elucidate molecular mechanisms.
His recent publications highlight DNA repair enzymology in extremophiles, cancer-associated MutY variants, carotenoid isomerization in ocular health, and neurotoxin interactions with receptors. Collaborations include Dr. Sheila David (UC Davis), Dr. William Brazelton (University of Utah), and Dr. Hibbs (UTSW).
