Martin Hopf is a Professor in the Faculty of Physics, Department of Basic Experimental Physics Training and University Didactics. His research focuses on student learning, conceptual understanding, and context-based teaching methods, with contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through curriculum innovations.
He leads the Centre for Teacher Education and Center for Science Education Research (AECCs). Notable projects include creating Open Educational Resources (OER) for teaching electricity and wave optics. His work addresses challenges like student misconceptions in radioactivity and energy transfer.
