Dr. Martin Hartung is a researcher at the Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) in Mannheim, specializing in conversation analysis and applied linguistics. He leads projects such as the Archive for Spoken German (AGD), the Conversation Analysis Information System (GAIS), and the Research and Teaching Corpus of Spoken German (FOLK). His doctoral work (University of Freiburg, 1997) focused on irony in everyday language. Hartung has held roles as a research assistant, freelance consultant, and editor for conversation research journals.
