Martin Grootveld

Professor Martin Grootveld is a prominent academic in the field of Bioanalytical Chemistry and Chemical Pathology at De Montfort University's Leicester School of Pharmacy. He has previously held faculty roles at Queen's University Belfast (Visiting Professor), University of Warwick (Honorary Associate Clinical Professor), and University of Bolton, where he pioneered the UK's first Master’s program in Medical and Healthcare Devices.

Recent work focuses on low-field benchtop NMR for point-of-care diagnostics and antioxidant strategies in food and dental products.

Prof. Grootveld's editorial contributions include leadership roles in Frontiers in Nutrition and Metabolites. He has supervised numerous PhD students and received accolades such as being shortlisted among the UK's top 5 PhD supervisors in 2020.
