Martin Eilers is a Full Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Würzburg (since 2008) and previously held similar positions at the University of Marburg (2001-2008) and Associate Professor at the University of Marburg (1997-2001). He earned his PhD at the University of Basel in 1988 and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). His career includes leadership roles such as research group leader at the ZMBH in Heidelberg and membership in the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft's National Study Section for Molecular Biology.
His research focuses span
- Molecular Biology
- Cell Biology
- Cancer Biology
- Stem Cell Biology
His 2010 publications analyze interactions between key transcription factors (Myc, Miz1, p53) and signaling pathways (TGF-beta, NFAT, p38 MAPK) in cancer progression. Topics include miRNA regulation, ubiquitylation, and autocrine signaling, reflecting cross-disciplinary work in cancer biology and molecular genetics.
Scientific honors include membership in the Academia Europaea. His work involves collaborations across institutions, including the University of Heidelberg and Tübingen, with studies on lymphomas, neuroblastomas, and melanomas.
