Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingenمعرفی
Martin Dobricki is a researcher affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, where he co-leads the group Perception and Action in Virtual Environments since 2012. His work focuses on human multisensory body self-perception, utilizing immersive virtual reality (iVR) setups to study phenomena like bodily self-identification, spatial presence, agency, and optically induced self-motion perception (vection). He has also developed iVR tools for experimental psychopathology and psychophysical procedures for measuring face and body self-perception.
- Education: Doctorate (2008) and Master of Science (2003) from the University of Zurich.
- Academic Roles: Co-leader of a research group (since 2012), Postdoc (2011–2012), and Research Fellow (2009–2011).
- Clinical Experience: Psychologist at Medical Center Geissberg, Kloten (2006).
- Teaching: Lecturer in experimental psychology and psychopathology at the University of Zurich (2006–2008).
His research spans multisensory integration, sensorimotor control, and experimental psychopathology, with methodological innovations in iVR and psychophysical measurements. Recent work includes dynamic body self-perception in interactive VR environments and clinical applications for stress-related disorders.
Scientific Awards:
- Postdoc fellowship from the Max Planck Society (2013–2014)
- Swiss National Science Foundation fellowship (2011–2013)
