Martin Burger is a Leading Scientist at DESY and Full Professor of Mathematics at the University of Hamburg. He heads the Computational Imaging group at DESY, part of the Helmholtz Imaging cooperation platform. His research focuses on imaging reconstruction methods, mathematical foundations of machine learning, and data science algorithms. He is a world-leading expert in inverse problems and applied mathematics.

Research Interests: Specializes in inverse problems, mathematical modeling, and partial differential equations. His team develops novel mathematical tools for scientific image analysis and explores machine learning algorithms.
Affiliations: Member of SIAM, GAMM, ÖMG, GIP, and IPIA. Serves on the Program Committee of the GAMM Annual Conference and the Advisory Board of Cambridge University’s Center for Mathematical Imaging in Healthcare.
