Martin Bachmann

Prof. Dr. Martin Bachmann is a leading Swiss immunologist and Professor of Immunology at the University of Bern, with affiliations at the University of Oxford and University of Zürich. As Head of the Immunology Department at Bern’s Department of Biomedical Research (DBMR), he focuses on therapeutic vaccines using virus-like particles (VLPs) for human and veterinary applications, including allergy, cancer, and infectious diseases.

Bachmann founded biotech companies Saiba GmbH, Hypopet AG, and Areba AG. Despite past controversies involving scientific misconduct and insider trading (2016), he remains active in academia and industry.
