Martha Agee serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Business Law at Baylor University, where she has taught for over 25 years with a focus on practical legal application for student career readiness. Her teaching methodology emphasizes real-world fact-situation analysis over theoretical doctrine, directly leveraging her dual expertise in accounting and law.
Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Business Administration with Accounting concentration and a Juris Doctor, both from Baylor University. Prior to academia, she worked a decade as a CPA in managerial accounting followed by nine years as an attorney specializing in business/commercial law—including roles at private firms and as Assistant City Attorney for Waco.
Research centers on employment law, international business law, and governmental regulations, informed by her active industry engagement through seminars for organizations like the Institute for Supply Management and UT's LBJ School of Public Affairs. Her scholarly output addresses critical gaps in employment discrimination frameworks, particularly regarding supervisory influence in liability cases.
Prestigious recognition includes Baylor's Collins Outstanding Professor Award (student-voted), dual Hankamer Teaching Excellence Awards (2005, 2018), and designation as Most Popular Professor (2007).
Beyond campus, she applies her expertise as Vice-Chair of her community's Planning and Zoning Commission and board member for an international rechargeable battery manufacturer, demonstrating sustained industry relevance.
