Marten van Dijk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Connecticut. He is affiliated with the Secure Computation Lab and holds the Charles H. Knapp Associate Professorship.

As a systems security researcher, Marten focuses on foundational security problems in cloud computing environments by combining theoretical cryptography, algorithms, and systems architecture. His work emphasizes deployable trustworthy systems for secure data outsourcing and workload management.
His research spans secure processor design, memory integrity verification (e.g., Aegis single-chip secure processor), oblivious RAM techniques, and authenticated file systems (IRIS). He has contributed to cryptology advancements in homomorphic encryption and error-correcting codes for Blu-ray discs.
