معرفی
Marta Zoppello is a Fixed-term tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences (DISMA) at Politecnico di Torino. She is actively involved in teaching and research, with affiliations across multiple academic programs including Mathematical Engineering and Architecture.
Her research focuses on Geometric Control Theory, Optimal Control, Fluid-Solid Interaction, and Biomechanics, particularly in the context of micro-swimming and dynamical systems with hysteresis and symmetry. She develops mathematical models to understand locomotion, morphogenesis, and control mechanisms in physical and biological systems.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in applying advanced mathematical techniques to problems in fluid dynamics, biomechanics, and nonlinear control. Her work bridges theoretical mathematics with applications in engineering and life sciences, particularly through the lens of geometric mechanics and dynamical systems.
She is a member of the research group Models and Methods in Mathematical Physics (DISMA), contributing to interdisciplinary projects involving mathematical modeling of physical phenomena.
Marta Zoppello teaches a variety of courses across departments, including Continuum Mechanics for Mathematical Engineering and Probability and Mathematical Statistics for Architecture. She also contributes to PhD-level instruction in geometric control theory and self-propulsion in fluids.
