Marta Valencia Prieto

Marta Valencia Prieto serves as Full Professor in the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of León, a position she has held continuously since 2003 with dual five-year teaching accreditation periods. Her instructional responsibilities encompass advanced clinical courses including Kinesiotherapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Hydrotherapy, and specialized Pain Management protocols.

Her research program centers on fibromyalgia rehabilitation and evidence-based pain management, conducted through active collaboration with the BB169 research group (Physiotherapy and Health). This work integrates clinical practice with academic investigation to develop therapeutic protocols for chronic pain conditions.

Professor Valencia Prieto maintains a robust publication record featuring 5 book chapters and 4 articles in premier international journals including Clinical Rehabilitation and Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, alongside conference proceedings advancing physiotherapy science.
