Marta Sofía López Rodríguez

Marta Sofía López Rodríguez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of León, Spain. Her academic work is centered on English Philology, with a strong focus on literary and comparative studies, particularly historiographic metafiction in English-language literature.

Her research interests span multiple interdisciplinary domains, including:

• Posthumanist and Environmental Humanities

She is a member of the research group GEIGhd (Estudios Literarios y Comparados. Insólito, Género y Humanidades Digitales) and was previously affiliated with GEHUMECO, a group dedicated to posthumanist research on gender and environmental issues in the humanities.

She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Oviedo in 1995 with a thesis titled La metaficción historiográfica en la literatura en lengua inglesa, supervised by Dr. María Socorro Suárez Lafuente.

Her current academic contributions are reflected in her leadership and participation in innovative research groups that bridge traditional literary scholarship with digital and critical theoretical approaches.
