معرفی
Marta Sabariego is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience and Behavior at Mount Holyoke College. Her research focuses on neural circuits underlying emotion and memory at the systems level, particularly mechanisms for recovery from reward loss and its impact on cognitive processes. She employs in-vivo electrophysiology, stereotaxic neurosurgery, and behavioral/histological analyses to study brain activity coordination during memory tasks.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Psychology, University of Jaén (Spain)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California, San Diego
Research Interests: Sabariego investigates how reward loss affects memory systems, aiming to translate findings into treatments for emotional/cognitive disorders. Her work emphasizes synaptic plasticity, neuronal network dynamics, and translational neuroscience.
Publications: Recent articles explore hippocampal roles in ADHD models, interval timing disruptions, and temporal organization of memory. Keywords span Neuroscience, Psychology, and Cognitive Neuroscience, with subfields like Neural Circuits and Synaptic Plasticity.
Awards:
- CNLM foreign graduate student and Renee Harwick visiting scholar award
- NIH Neuroplasticity of Aging Training Grant
Advocacy & Outreach: Sabariego promotes diversity through the BRAINS program and led bilingual neuroscience workshops for first graders. She contributes to Mount Holyoke's McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives and mentors undergraduate researchers.
