Dr. Marta Moya Jodar is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), affiliated with the Toepfer Group (Cardiac Physiology and Disease Modeling) and Watkins Group (Inherited Heart Muscle Disease). Her work focuses on Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA), a hereditary neuromuscular disorder causing cardiomyopathy, using patient-derived iPSC-CMs to model disease mechanisms and test therapies.
- PhD, MSc, BSc in relevant fields
Her research bridges regenerative medicine and cardiovascular genetics, emphasizing naive pluripotent stem cells and human-animal chimeras for organ development studies. Recent publications highlight innovations in blastocyst complementation, embryo engineering, and exosome roles in cancer.
Though no awards are listed, her work has garnered attention on platforms like X and Mendeley. She previously studied at CIMA-Universidad de Navarra, focusing on stem cell conversion and developmental biology.
