Marta Jimenez is a Research Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Society, Complutense University of Madrid, supported by a 5-year Ramón y Cajal research grant. Formerly an Associate Professor at Emory University (2011-2024), she specializes in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy with focuses on moral psychology, social/political epistemology, and emotion theory. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and has held fellowships at Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center and visiting roles at Oxford and UCLA.

Research Interests: She examines emotions' epistemic roles in ethics, particularly Aristotle's views on shame and justice. Current projects include analyzing greed, envy, and political friendship in Aristotle's conception of justice. She explores intersections between ancient and contemporary social epistemology, emphasizing the noble (kalon) as an ethical value.
