Marta Ferrer Puga

Marta Ferrer Puga is a Specialist in Allergology and Clinical Immunology, serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Navarra since 2022. She is also a Professor of Medicine and conducts research at the University of Navarra Clinic, with additional clinical presence at Madrid Headquarters.

• Education: MD in Medicine and Surgery (University of Zaragoza), PhD in Allergy (University of Navarra Clinic).

Research Areas include the pathophysiology of chronic urticaria, histaminergic angioedema, and the role of cutaneous basophils/mast cells. She explores nanoparticles as immunotherapy vehicles and develops biological therapies for allergic conditions.

Projects: Principal Investigator of 23 competitive research projects, including a FIS project on histaminergic angioedema's genotype/phenotype and a Ministry of Economy-funded peanut allergy immunotherapy trial. Coordinates the RICORS cooperative research network.

• Scientific Recognition: Clemens von Pirquet Award (2023).

Publications & Patents: Over 150 publications, two international patents, 17 book chapters, and a patient education book. Holds editorial roles (Associate Editor of Allergy) and leadership positions in allergology societies.
