Marta Agüero Guerra is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at Northwestern University, holding dual PhDs: one in Hispanic Applied Linguistics from the University of Salamanca and another in Hispanic Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Iowa. She specializes in humor studies, pragmatics, and language pedagogy, with a focus on multimodal narratives addressing socio-political issues in the Spanish-speaking world.

Her research has been published in national/international journals and includes the book Representaciones de la infancia en el comic: de la nostalgia al compromiso social (2023). She has extensive teaching experience across all Spanish language levels, including graduate seminars on humor, pragmatics, graphic novels, and childhood studies. Additionally, she has advised Spanish majors/minors, contributed to service-learning programs, and promoted Open Educational Resources (OER).
