Marqiece Cunningham serves as Director of Residence Life at Campbell University while concurrently instructing the Campbell University Freshman Seminar (CUFS) and advising the Black Student Association (BSA). His role encompasses comprehensive oversight of residential education programs, management of the Community Assistant staff, and execution of move-in/move-out operations across campus housing facilities.
His academic foundation includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi
- Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia
Specializing in transformative leadership development within residential settings, Cunningham leverages extensive experience across diverse institutional contexts—from small private colleges to large public universities. His professional philosophy centers on cultivating student leadership through intentional community programming, staff mentorship, and inclusive residential environments that bridge academic and social development. This approach integrates his background in recreation operations with contemporary student affairs theory to create holistic living-learning experiences.
As BSA advisor, he actively supports cultural programming and student advocacy initiatives. His Residence Life team implements evidence-based residential education models focused on community engagement, identity development, and crisis response protocols within campus housing.
