Marloes Beers

Dr. Marloes Beers is an Assistant Professor and Researcher in the History of International Relations at Utrecht University's Department of History and Art History (Faculty of Humanities). Her research focuses on the history of EU energy policy, Cold War dynamics, and European identity formation, with particular emphasis on France, the Netherlands, and Germany. She holds a PhD from the University of Cergy Pontoise and has conducted archival research in EU institutions, OECD/IEA, and corporate archives like Shell and Total. She coordinates the MA History program's International Relations track and teaches courses on EU history and Cold War studies.
