معرفی
Marlikka Perdrisat is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Postgraduate Fellow at the University of Sydney Law School, working at the intersection of Indigenous legal traditions, environmental governance, and knowledge dissemination. Her research centers on First Law—Indigenous legal systems governing relationships with Country—and its applications in contemporary environmental justice and cultural preservation.
As a Nyikina woman, Perdrisat employs interdisciplinary approaches integrating law, film, and Indigenous methodologies. Recent scholarship co-developed with Martuwarra (Fitzroy River) traditional custodians articulates river governance frameworks grounded in First Law principles.
Research outputs examine 'Feeling and Hearing Country' as methodological practice, planetary health determinants from Indigenous perspectives, and legal frameworks for river watershed protection. Her collaborative work emphasizes knowledge co-creation with Indigenous communities and epistemological pluralism.
Perdrisat contributes to cultural preservation through Nyikina language revitalization and documentary filmmaking. Her TEDxSydney talk 'The future will be written with the language of the past' advocates for Indigenous knowledge integration in environmental governance.
Current projects develop legal frameworks recognizing Indigenous sovereignty in watershed management and explore intercultural governance models for planetary health challenges.
