Marlene Mark Jensen is a Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Bio Conversions at Technical University of Denmark. Her primary research focuses on microbial ecology, biogeochemistry, and nitrogen cycle processes in engineered systems, particularly mitigating nitrous oxide emissions from wastewater treatment. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbial Ecology and Biogeochemistry from the University of Southern Denmark (2003–2006) and an M.Sc. in Biology (2002). She also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Southern Denmark (2008–2011).
Research Interests: Her work addresses nitrous oxide quantification and mitigation in water systems, microbial pathways, and sustainable environmental technologies. Her expertise aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to clean water and climate action.
