Marlene Briciet Lauritsen is a Clinical Professor at Aalborg University, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Clinical Medicine. Her research focuses on child and adolescent psychiatry, with particular emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, sensory processing anomalies, medical comorbidity, and parent-child communication dynamics.
- Developed online psychiatric screening tools for youth with complex circulatory conditions (Fontan circulation)
- Investigated adult attachment representations in parents of autistic children
- Contributed to systematic reviews on parent-mediated autism interventions
- Designed clinical frameworks for Guided Self-Determination in ADHD comorbidity
In 2020, she received the Educational Prize from the Association of Young Psychiatrists. Her work has been featured in 12 media contributions, including debates on psychiatric policy and child mental health services. Current projects include:
- "Exercise as a medium to support adolescents with mental health challenges" (2025-2030)
